Consulate Review: Trinidad & Tobago
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 24, 2010
Embassy Review : Total time at the embassy was about 3 hours, with most of that time spent waiting, and arranging forms. The consular officer was very pleasant; the interview itself, lasted about 15 - 20 mins., and consisted of basic questions (How we met, where did he propose, was there an engagement ring [we did not have any!!], what plans have we made for the wedding, where do we plan to live in the US, etc.). It seemed like some of the questions were an attempt to see if there was any inconsistency in what was said and what we had in the forms. It turned our well, however, but because they had to rush to give us an interview date with one week's notice, we could not get the medical exam done prior to the interview, so we have to do the medical after, then take the results back to the embassy, before having the visa issued. The experience was ok, just a lot of waiting. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE DOCS THEY ASK YOU TO BRING; DON'T FORGET THE ORIGINALS TOO.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
