US Entry :
Comments : We arrived at the diplomatic enclave at 6am. Luckily there were less people than what I was expecting. We paid Rs500 and got on to the first bus to the consulate. The bus left at at 7;20. Some how we were the first one in the line to enter the consulate. As we entered they were turning on the lights. I was the petitioner and I accompanied my wife into the consulate. At first waiting area they asked for my wife's picture and took her finger prints. They gave her a paper with list of places where to pick up the passport along with a purple sticker. Then we were moved to another room where all the interview windows were. She was called to sign the DS 230 part 2, and was asked which language she would want the interview in. Then after a few min at 8:30 she was called by an American lady. She asked her a few questions; wedding picture, where I worked, what I did, how many times have I visited. date of marriage, why she wanted to go to US, and more background about me regarding how long I have been in Us, and what did I study etc. She then asked my wife (beneficiary) about her plans when she would get to US. At the end she looked thru the wedding pictures, and said that she is granting the visa. We got the passport 6th day. !!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
