Event Description

Embassy Review : Interview went poorly and was not given visa due to problems with previous stays in US on tourist visa. Needed I-601 waiver of inadmissibility. It would have been nice to know this closer to the beginning of the whole process. Fortunately this was granted several months later.
Rating : Poor

Local US CIS Office Review: New Orleans LA
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : July 11, 2007
Embassy Review : Very good experience with just a few minutes wait time (interview was at 8 a.m., actually started about 8:20 and we were finished by about 8:45). Questions were pretty much as expected. It did help to bring more than what the interview letter said as we were asked which documents that we brought. We said everything and then asked to see some pictures of our baby's birth if we had them (we did). Other documents we had to show were as expected (tax return, passport, marriage cert., etc.) but from that it was clear that it doesn't hurt to take EVERYTHING that can serve as evidence of relationship/family life.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
