I am an LPR who petitioned for my wife and son in F2A category. Their visas were approved today at the Lagos Consulate. She said that the actual interview with the CO lasted less than 5 minutes. She was interviewed by a middle aged Caucasian American lady. She asked the following questions:
CO: Who is the Petitioner?
Wife: My husband
CO: How did he go to the US?
Wife: By DV lottery
CO: Where did he live when he got to the US?
Wife: He first lived in Sacramento, then in San Diego and now in Pittsburg, CA.
CO: What does he do for a living?
Wife: He's an engineer
CO: When did you guys get married?
Wife: Dec 31, 2005.
CO: When was your son born?
Wife: Jan 3, 2008
CO: So your child was born 2 years after you got married?
Wife: yes
CO: It seems you and your husband have known each other for a long time
Wife: Yes, we've known each other for about 10 years, we met in college
CO: Can I see some pictures?
My wife had tons of pictures which she organized and labelled "before marriage", "wedding" and "after wedding". The CO took a look at a few pictures from before we got married, which we took while we were dating beginning in 2000. She then asked if she had pictures of us as a family. My wife had more than enough. The CO took particular attention at a photo my wife took me and my son while we were sleeping. She was amazed at how much my son looks like me. We layed down on the bed exactly the same way. The CO smiled.
After that, she said "congratulations, your visa has been approved." My wife could not believe it because she expected a lot more questions. She had gone with tons of evidence - email records, phone logs, bank statements, etc. The CO did not ask to see all of that evidence.
She will be picking up her visa next Wednesday. It is such a relieve to finally get to the end of this journey, after over 4 years.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
