Embassy Review : Although I was not physically there for the interview, I am going to pass on the detailed information my husband gave me after it was all over. I may not have all the specific details...but should be pretty close.

He arrived at the doors around 6:15am and was first in line, standing in the snow wondering why oh why his wife insisted he get there that early. LOL At about 6:45am people started to line up and he met Lonie and Ravenesque. At 7:30am the doors opened up and he went through security and was handed Letter "A". Im not sure about the waiting area or when they went up the elevator, but I know he didn't wait long before he was waiting to be called up to a window.

Then, they called for Letter "A" and he went up to the window and said the lady was very nice. She asked for our DS-230, I-864 with financial evidence (I had the past 3 years tax returns, paystubs and employer letter), original and copy of marriage cert, his birth cert, and his divorce decree, copy of his PR card, copy of his passport demographic page, medical results (had him keep his x-ray) and Expresspost envelope. She did give the originals back to him. She said eveything looked good and had him sit back down to wait for fingerprints. About 10 min. later he was called back up for fingerprints and that was that. He did not give me a exact wait time, but I think it was about 30 min later they called his name (yes, his name not the letter "A") to the interview room. He did mention that the speaker they call your name on is quite fuzzy so you have to listen carefully.

He went into the interview room and he said it wasn't very big and the officer was behind a glass window. He had him raise his right hand and take an oath. He proceeded to ask him the following:

-Where did you meet your wife?
-What does she do for a living?
-What do you do for a living? (my husband did say that he was asking quite a few questions about his profession...music teacher...but wasn't grilling him, just interested)
-How many children do you have? How many children does your wife have?
-Where do you plan on living in the US?

That was it. He asked if he had ever been refused entry to the US and he said "no". The officer said, "Well, you will never have to worry about that ...welcome to the United States". He said that when he said that the officer stuck his hand to the glass as if he was shaking my husband's hand. LOL

My husband thanked him and he was handed the Welcome to United States letter and was told his passport/visa would be mailed out tomorrow and should get by Friday. All in all, he said it was painless and went pretty fast. He said all the people he encountered were very nice and welcoming. He called me at about 9:30am after getting back to his hotel room.

Now it is time to enjoy this day and gear up for POE!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
