Got an RFE because I mistakenly checked the box stating his son was filing concurrently, which he is not. Sent corrected I-485 on 12/28.

My fiance had his visa interview on July 12th. Overall he said the interview was not too bad, though they asked the same questions over and over again, and all about me of course. He was prepared, so it was ok. They do a lot to try to try to confuse them, but it is important to remain respectful and attentive. He said they watched his body language more than listened to his actual answers. The frustrating part was they never gave any answer after the interview...just a white slip of paper and "we will call you"...very stressful. I was hopeful it was good because they kept his passport. We were unable to get any status updates or information until they called July 20th for him to pickup the visa. My only complaint is that they did not ever tell him he was just in AP. It was a frustrating week of not knowing. Otherwise, not too painful. |

My husband and I had our interview this morning at the Pittsburgh office for his AOS. We arrived at 9am for our 9:30 interview, and were seen promptly at 9:30. They had a decent crowd in the waiting room, but they were right on time. It was a great experience. After we were both sworn in, we showed our passports and proceeded with some of the questions. Very relaxed and the interviewer did make us feel very comfortable. We did not have to show even one piece of paperwork or the photos we brought. Just answered some questions and talked about how we met. Very simple...and a very good experience. After 25 minutes the interview said welcome to America and handed us a booklet on tips for new immigrants. He should have his greencard in a couple weeks. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
