According to the norm, appointment was at 7am October 12, 2010 My daughters and I arrived at 6:00a.m and waited in line 3.
7:am A woman of DOMESA gave to every body form-small for full with address where every body received Visas and my name.
7:15 other woman of Embassy clerk gave further instructions and folder for documents and forms DS-230. So I organized every documents as she gave.
Every kid need a folder with her documents and forms, although I put original documents in my Folder so I put a copy of it in every folder of my kids, as our Marriage Certificate.
7:30 We be entry to Embassy and scanner every things we carry in this moment. Cell with cam is not allowed but I had my old cell without cam, that time up help me a lots because I could communications with my Husband when was necessary.
7:35 We continue in file and every body passed with Folder of documents/Forms and gave a other nice woman for check every documents/forms.
So She ask for a copy divorce document of my Husband, that is good put it folder for if consulate request it in interview and I obtained it in 5 minutes as I had 5 folder with all documents forms our process. I back to she and deliver it with 3 Folder full documents/forms to She said me we must waited some time still that a person of Consulate called us
7:50 We seated near window 30, 31 and 32 these window said only for Residents.
Many people began be called many K1, Residents Family (they carry wait 6 to 10 years), too CR1, CR2 and we for IR1. I was thinking that my interview will be for 3pm as I saw pass a many persons and nothing for we.
9:30a.m. A Consul woman called us so I let to my kids seated and I walked with all my documents/forms for a mini-interview that she made. She show be a woman very serious and formal.
She said me that take me all documents for window, I saw that she change documents have new date and I gave in folder and so She gave a lots documents that my Husband gave for our process.
She ask me for my kids but said me that continue seated and ask if my Husband is here but I said that not. She ask me for first traveled to US and what happened with it, I explain and said me that visa K1 is for marriage but I explain to her that I was could not see a happy marriage at that time and didn’t obtained a green card or US. Resident. K1 is only a possible of find person right and knew really a person very near and know that it relationship can work time up. With kids must put serious attention.
She ask me How many time we lived together and where?
so she Silence and said me ok waited for next interview with Consulate official with kids and window between 1to 4.
Keep a lots documents is hard because I too have copy of every things.
9:40 We seated to waited for long show be it, I saw many people pass time back seat wait. I find a nice woman from Bogota that her dad give to she and her daughter 15 years old, she will lived in New York, I too was find women from Medellin for Visa K1 and 1 nice woman from Quindio with her 2 kids 15 and 12 years old.
9:50 My daughter Julissa was called for take fingerprints
9:55 I was called to have my fingerprints taken
10 a.m. Consulate called me only for interview, She is nice and pretty woman, gave good morning and I surprised because didn’t waited it faster I thinking other persons check firstly that us. She asked me 3 question:
1) Me Traveled and visa first to US and I answer form short but right and explain that I think that every body get marriage for be happy and don’t only get visa or US Resident, she was agree with mine for right decision in these moments and now I was very happy when knew to my Husband for quality as person, good friend, good son and good father that he is, so I admire a lot. So she smile and said me that was wonderful decision.
2) For where we was knew?
I gave page web and we
3) Why show some number in Birth Certificate of my young-daughter?
I was surprised for it because never before I saw it or put attention, so she said me that if really I know on it answer or that not nothing. I answer again that really I don’t know why notary put these.
So she said me congratulations, your Visas are approved. My oldest daughter signature but I sign for my young daughter and she not need finger prints.
I spent more time in DOMESA, many people gave too this same date and our interview Tuesday October 12, we received our passports/Visas Thursday October 14 and our traveled October 22, 2010.
I called a my Husband some time in this moment because Domesa takes 8 days for arrive to Cartagena, even Domesa information that Bogota can take 5 days.
So I wrote in form DOMESA that our ticket fly was for October 22, 2010 please help me with it. I finish put name of my sister’s address who lives in Bogota.
Appointment with Laboratory was at 7am Thursday October 7, 2010 and with doctor 3:30pm October 7, 2010. Was right because my young-kid did need information other doctor special and we made it on Friday, October 8 and translator in English and approved October 11, just time. Too even although we did put a lots vaccination Doctor sent to put other 2 reinforcement to every body.
Really interview was easy, more time waited with doctor but anyway great and arrive to Miami we did spent 4 days in Fort Lauderdale and I would like traveled for road because is better form know a country, I enjoyed and viewed the road trip to Disney World, Orlando, Florida very funny, South Carolina, north Carolina….etc now we living small city very pretty, security don’t stole, don’t bad things, people are friendly, special, warm, very education. My kids love their school they very happy and we too.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
