Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 2, 2010
Embassy Review : I had a pleasant stay in Xia's apartment. He is a very friendly guy and offered to help me with organizing my documents. My VO was a young caucasian lady. She just asked me routine questions.
-How did you meet?
-What's your major?
-Could I see his tax return?
-Could I see your physical examination results?
-Could I see your pictures?
-Who's that?
-Does he only have 1 sister?
Then, she handed me a pink sheet of paper.

I had a feeling that my VO was probably a tough one. It was later confirmed by hearing other people talking about her. Few pink slips were given by her on that date. Most applicants interviewed by her received blue/white slips. She couldn't find the tax return forms and my PE results when these documents were right in her hands. Fortunately I had paper clipped every single documents and was able to guide her to find my documents.

My interview was finished around 10:30am on the 21st. I waited in Guangzhou till the 24th evening but still no sign of visa delivery so I went home and took the high speed railway back to Guangzhou on the 28th. My visa was printed on the 24th, which means they could have delivered mine on the 24th and I could have avoid the 2nd trip to Guangzhou.
Rating : Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
