Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : August 9, 2010
Embassy Review : US Immigration in itself is frustrating, and the consulate seems to take the brunt of my frustration when dealing with immigration. They would not answer simple questions over the phone, and told me that it takes up to 4 weeks to respond to an e-mail. Sadly, this was tested and it's true. Mail coming from this consulate to Vietnam addresses was also lost, so it's best to keep in contact with them every few weeks. It is easiest if you have somebody in Ho Chi Minh City who can go to the consulate to talk to them directly when needed.

As for he interview itself, it was not bad at all. If you have prepared what is needed to pass the interview then the interview itself isn't hard.

For the record, we succeeded with a K-1 through this consulate without ever talking to a lawyer.
Rating : Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
