Comments : We went to the non-resident queue at EWR passport control. I explained that my wife was immigrating to the officer. He stamped our passports and asked for her package, less her x-rays. He asked me why it was so large and I just shrugged. (it was heavily front loaded from day one) He told me to get our luggage and wait for my wife downstairs and told her to accompany him to an office. About 45 minutes later lao po appeared with no wounds, scars or bruises and our new adventure began. On a previous arrival I asked an immigration officer about their procedure and what to expect. He assured me that at EWR it was a smooth process and they don't harass.

Comments : We received an appointment date that conflicted with us being away from home. I followed the instructions and requested another date. We received the new appointment date and time without any problem. At USCIS office we had to go through an airport type security check. As usual they treat everyone as a suspected terrorist and are as rude as they can be. The visa office employees were a little nicer.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
