Fiancee's Interview Experience:
I came to the main gate at 8am, there were only 2 people in front of me waiting outside. First the guard looked at my invitation letter and passport and then told me to go inside. Then, there was the police control and at the end I was told to go and stand in a 'red' line. After a moment I came to another room, (the waiting room). First I went to get my number (these are windows from 8 to 10) then I was waiting for my number to be displayed on the board.
When I saw my number I went again to the window, gave the woman my passport, medical tests packet (no need for X-ray),two signed visa photos, my original long form birth certificate, forms ds 156 and 156k, form I-134 and DHL form already filled in and signed by myself. And again I waited, this time to take my fingerprints. When my time came, they took my fingerprints and instructed me to go to another window to pay the visa fee ( US $131).
After completing this I waited for the interview with the consular officer. Again I waited for my number to be displayed and when it was my turn, I went to the counter window and started talking to the officer. It was a standing interview. He asked me 'How are you' and I answered 'Not so bad, but a bit nervous' Then he smiled and said there is nothing to worry about anything. I took an oath to tell the truth. He didn't ask me many questions, he was interested only in how and how often we communicate with each other and if I have any plans to work in the US. At the and he said I got the visa I thanked him very much and he said that my passport will come by DHL within 5 working days, I got the DHL slip with number on it.

Embassy Review : |
Was directed to the Non-US Citizen window and wait in line for your turn. There are a few of those counters, but when I came only two of them were opened so I had to stand in line for some time. While standing in line, prepare your passport, the package (envelope) you got from the embassy in your country, form I-94 and custom declaration. The last two of them I got while I was still in the plane, so I filled them in while still flying. Those forms are also available at the airport's desk, be sure to fill them in before you go to the Non-US Citizen's window. If you don't know what to write, there are people to help you. The first immigration officer fingerprinted and photographed me. Then he checked my visa/passport, took the sealed envelope from my consulate and told me to follow him. I went to another room where I had to wait for another immigrant officer. He came after a while and started checking all the documents I gave. He asked me few questions: When did you and your fiance meet? How old is he? Where does he live? and What is his job? Then he chopped my passport and form I-94 which was inside. And that was all. It took about 1.5 hours from the time the plane landed till the moment I got out into the arrival hall. (DFW was my final destination.) I would recommend making an minimum allowance of 2 hours for immigration processing, customs and baggage re-checking for those of you who are planning to have DFW as the POE and then connecting to other domestic flights out of DFW. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
