Comments : Filed an I-212 waiver in Tokyo in January. Received in Seoul, South Korea end of January. Initial review happened very quickly in Seoul, but a request for an A-File from the US took around 2 months to be received. The day the A-file was received, though, Seoul approved the waiver and mailed it back to Tokyo.

Event Description

Embassy Review : We took a taxi there around 9:30am. It was already pretty crowded, but everything was organized. It was more like going to a DMV to get your license renewed than what I expected for a visa interview. Everyone we talked to was friendly and my fiancee and I both went up to the window during the interview. The interviewer (tall guy who was nice) asked me to sit down while he asked my fiancee a few questions then I went back up there. We have a waiver to file also, so we thought she might get the third degree, but it was quick and fairly painless. I think we spent about an hour there overall. I wish all government offices were as well run.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
