Comments : There was no interview for the I-485. Before receiving notice of approval we had to re-submit the medical results records. They said they didnt have it...which meant they LOST it...But it was all good, cuz it seems that was all they were missing to approve the greencard. We received the greencard in the mail on Dec 27, 2010 but it may have been there a couple of days since we were out of town for over a week. We only saw it when we got back.

Consulate Review: Trinidad & Tobago
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 12, 2009
Embassy Review : I got to the embassy at 7:30am. Upon arriving I was given a brown folder to place the required documents in a certain order, but i was only attended to around 10:30am. When they finally called me I dealt with a local staffer that ensured i had the correct documents etc. This woman was very very rude as far as i am concerned. She wanted to socialize with co- workers while she was handling my stuff. However she wasnt good at multitasking so she had to stop processing my stuff so she cld talk & laugh. It was all very blatant & without regard for me. From what i hear, this is how she is all the time! Anyway, after i spent almost 20 minutes waiting for her to staple papers together i was sent back to my seat to wait to be called on again. after almost 35mins i was called on by the Consul Officer. I was asked a long series of questions, some of which in my oppionion were a bit off the wall. In spite of this in hind sight I can say that I felt very comfortable answering all he questions she brought my way. Even the one's I didnt have an answer for or was unsure about. After what seemed like a never ending interrogation trying to disguise itself as a casual questioning I heard the counselor say the magic words..."Congratulations, your K-1 visa application has been approved"!!! I think i let out a very vocal sigh of relief. I was told to return in 4 days to pick up the visa. Below you can see the list of questions i was asked, at least the ones i can remember

Interview Questions:
When and how did we meet; when did we start dating; When and how did he propose; Does he have family in trinidad; have i ever met any of his family members;if he had siblings and how many including their names and ages;if he had children; What was his childs name and age and favorite toy; where did we go and what we did when we met in person the first time; what he did for a living and how long;
What he did before his curent occupation; Does he have a college education; when is the wedding
if we were having a civil wedding or otherwise; Who was the maid or honor and best man; She evn asked who's the flower girl and ring bearer; What is my color scheme and if i got a dress;
who was paying for the wedding & how we're splitting the costs; What is it that he does that annoys me the most;
Whats his favorite & least favorite food ...

etc etc etc

These were just some of the questions i remembered.

Overall, excluding the 3hr wait and rude staffer, it was a pretty decent experience. I was very very nervous prior to the actual interview, but it turned out well and i'm sooo glad its over and i can focus planning a wedding & marrying my man!

Hope this review helps someone out there

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
