Embassy Review : |
The interview was easy. We completed all forms by the book, so we had nothing to hide when we went in for the interview.
The officer asked us how we met, then chatted about our situation.
My wife is bilingual in Spanish, and English, but if your spouse isn't fluent, you will need to bring a translator.
Anyhow, after we chatted, the officer went into our story a little bit, looked through our photos, asked 12 basic questions (i.e., have you ever committed any crimes? Have you ever been arrested? Have you ever transported money illegally?). Once the questioning was done, the officer stamped my wife's AOS application, and confirmed that she would get her green card.
My wife had actually purchased a ticket to visit her family in Nicaragua the day after our scheduled green card interview. So, the officer completd the advanced parole application for us in his office, and had us get the stamp downstairs at the lobby.
Thank God.
Don't worry too much about the interview - if you have nothing to hide, there is no reason to not get your green card. Good luck. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
