Embassy Review : |
Interview was VERY TYPICAL compared to the other positive reviews that the manila embassy received. Of course there were long wait times and lots of different people. However, sitting next to people that were in the same boat as me (k1 visa applicants) helped pass the time. The consul was a caucasian male who was very polite and asked me questions about my job, justin, my son, what we did for a living, and general questions about our relationship. After the interview he said we were done and that all we needed was a co-sponsor and to return anytime M-thurs before 1pm! As many people have said, normally the USEM does NOT accept co-sponsors for k1 visas. BUUUT, in our particular case, HE DID ALLOW US!! This proves that on a case by case basis, although very rare, the USEM does allow cosponsors. Unfortunately, i do NOT know the qualifying criteria since our case didn't seem any more different than any other cases we've talked to people about. So upon returning with our cosponsor's paperwork, the clerk accepted and reviewed our documents and said I could just pay for my air21 shipping fee and the visa would be delivered within 3-5 days! Its been such a relief and i am overall very satisfied with the service i received at the USEM! Good luck and God bless to all who are still on their visa journey! |

Embassy Review : |
The immigration officer was a bit dry, but was courteous and professional. I gave him all the required documents and after reviewing them he proceeding to ask me some questions regarding my son, my fiancee, and I. Each question was given a clear and concise answer. After a those few short questions, he then explained the terms of the k1 visa and how we had to get married within 90 days. Then after that, he welcomed me to the US and sent me on my way to claim my bags and head through customs which was also a quick and easy process. Overall, it was very easy process and i am pleased with the way the San Francisco POE handled my first entry into the US! I hope and pray that others will be able to say the same thing =) |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
