Yahoo! We made it! Big thanks to the Sydney Consulate for pushing through everything in such a short timeframe (and setting the interview date for us, even though they hadn't received all the documents). Visa was received on the same day that I was booked to fly out, , and I arrived one week before the wedding! Nail-biting stuff!! |

Nov 2, 2012 - That glorious piece of mail arrived. Looked at the USCIS return address and debated whether I actually wanted to open it and see what it contained for a good minute before getting up the nerve to open it. Approved!
Mar 30, 2012 - Biometrics appointment at Boston ASC. Went smoothly. Was there for a total of 6 minutes!
Feb 27, 2012 - Receipt notice date - Conditional residence status extended for one year
Feb 24, 2012 - Mailed off our ROC paperwork
Feb 25, 2012 - USPS tracking says the package was received and signed for. I didn't realize USCIS could receive packages on Saturdays... |

The consulate staff were incredibly helpful. We were running out of time before the wedding (everything was already booked and paid for, including travel by family and friends on both sides), and emailed them to explain the situation. We did not yet have the police clearance, but they told us to send everything we had with a cover note explaining what wasn't there and why. Once received, they booked the interview, even without the documents required. Documents still hadn't arrived by the interview date, so they went ahead with everything and told me to send the clearance via mail once we received it. Did this, and they had the visa to me four days later. Absolutely incredible people. Very quick, very understanding and VERY helpful. Could not have hoped for a better experience. |
