Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 17, 2011
Embassy Review : Yanzi reported to the Guangzhou Consulate at 12:30 PM on 8-16 to submit paperwork.
It was around 4:00 PM when she actually got to see an officer.
At that time she was asked if she was CCP.
She was asked which language for interview.(She said Chinese)
She was than given a number for the next day's appointment.

She returned the consulate sometime before 7:30 AM on the 8-17.

At about 9:30 AM the interview began.
She was interviewed by a pleasant male officer.

At some point in the interview the officer looked at length at the copies of my passport pages, noting the entry and exit stamps for 5 visits. The officer looked at the picture of Yanzi, her family, and I together. He looked a little at the 30 page logging of phone calls. He paid no attention at all to the emails or the evolution of relationship letter.

She was asked:
What is your husbands name?
Where he works?
What does he do there?
Does she ever travel outside of China?
What does husband like for vacation?
Do you speak any English? She answered (in English) that she speaks only simple English that her husband understands.
After this the officer smiled and said you are approved.

I forgot to ask how long the interview took. It seems from her description that it was a short one.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
