Appointment time was today @ 1055. Like others have written, it's located on the S/W corner of the old Park Central Mall ( from you old timers who remember it ) Not hard to find.
The security guys are friendly and helpful and pleasant to deal with.
I was expecting a large room, it's not and it was packed!
We took seats at 1035.
Interesting people watching.. some dressed business casual, others in T-shirts and shorts.
People in, people out..some smiling and giving a thumbs up and others not so happy and bee lining for the elevator. Some in for 20 minutes, a few longer and some for just a few minutes... observed lots of photo albums.
Called in at 1135..not too bad considering how many people were there.
Officer Wanger had the pleasure of enjoying our company this morning.
He informed us that we were there on our own accord and could leave at any time..asked us to stand, raise right hand and affirm to tell the truth.. normal
I had brough almost everything I could think of. Two packets of forms, pictures, certificates,..everything.
He asked me (USC) date of birth, city of birth, current address, employment. Asked wife same and included mother and fathers names. He asked her if she was working, had a EAD ( yes) and then the standard questions from the I-485 app. " Do you sell dope?, sell humans?, want to overthrow the US? Then asked her about her first time in the U.S. 2d time, and 3rd time. Asked if she had 6 months or 3 months permission on each previous visit. Asked how we met and was curious that I am still living/residence in both Thailand and the US. I explained that it was the decaying health of my father that lead to us to decide to stay back here in Arizona. I was truthful and informed him that when my father does pass, we probably will move back to Thailand...but knowing my father, who is a stubborn ol' goat, he could live another 30 years ( he's 91 now)
Then he asked "well...what did you bring to show me?" "what do you want to see?", I asked. Marriage certificate? "nope, already have a copy of that"..birth certificate? "nope, already have a copy of that too".. well, name it cause I have everything.."ok, bills, photos.stuff like that"
I gave him all I had. I only had 9 photos that I had to download off my emails since our camera's and pics are all back in Thailand.
He said I had enough and "may I keep this stuff?" No worries mate.
He kept checking off items in our folder with a red pen..I felt like a student who was getting an "F" mark here, check there...
He asked if there were any questions and informed us with a big smile "I'm recommending you for approval"
No I-155 stamp, but he red penned across the wifes B2 visa..looks like "cancelled" and informed her "Don't leave the US until your green card arrives. Go to Social Security and have them upgrade your status, then cut up your EAD card..your green card is a one all card for employment and when you do travel, use the green card along with the Thai passport."
That was it.
20 minutes.
Overall a good experience.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
