Comments : Our interview was scheduled for 11/25/2009. I flew down 11/24/2009 and me and English got a taxi to Kingston that night and stayed over at the Hotel Four Seasons. Not a fancy place but it served its purpose. I would highly recommend staying there the night before as the drive there is very tiring and stressful.

We arrived at the U.S. Embassy at 8:50 a.m. where we noticed a HUGE line of people waiting to enter for an appointment. We had our interview appointment paper in hand and were directed to speak to a assistant at the front of the line. We showed her the letter and she asked for our 156, 156k, 157 and 3 of English's passports photos. She prepared the documents right there outside on a clipboard and handed them back to us and told us to go in the right hand side door. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our cell phones with the lady out front so we had an officer hold them for us until we were done. He gladly did so and he didn't charge us! We entered the first building where you go through security (exactly like how it is at an airport). We then walked outside and was directed by a very nice Embassy Officer to the next building. We then entered the building and was given a number; A136.

We sat and waited for our number to be called. We sat next to Haymsmorgan (they had their interview the same day which was nice to talk to someone and meet in person) We were called to the 3rd window and was asked for all our documents where she checked off a list what we had completed correctly and necessary...(which we did it all correctly due to being VisaJourney members and the great help I got from all my friends on here) She didn't ask us any questions. She was just the paper shuffler for the next person; organizing everything for our interview. We then went to another area and English had his fingerprints done. We then walked back to the original area and sat and waited for us to be called. It was interesting to see all the pictures on the wall of various places in America. Haymsmorgan had their interview before us, we heard the young lady say, "Approved". I started to cry for them.

Soon after that, we were called up. She was a young blond woman who was VERY nice and polite to us both. She asked me the following questions through the glass: When did we meet; how did we meet; if I have met his family and if so, who; how many times had I been to Jamaica prior to meeting English and within what time period (she was looking at my passport at this time and she saw where I had been going every other month) and she made a positive comment on that, she asked English if he has met my children. Then she told me to sit down. She told English to pick up the phone for his part of the interview and she then asked English the following questions: If he had ever been married before; if I had been married before and why the marriage did work out; what is my profession, how often do we talk on the phone (which English went into GREAT detail about our daily phone calls) she laughed and said "you know your lady well, that's enough on that"; how old he was; and if he had ever been arrested before. She then called me back up to the window and said, "Congratulations, your Visa has been approved!"

The whole process took less than 50 minutes. It was a wonderful experience. His immigration process at Philadelphia Int. Airport took a bit over 10 minutes. Piece of cake. We are very happy and glad this part of our journey is behind us.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
