Comments : Interview was scheduled for 3/17/10, however, because of mother nature (Cyclone Tomas), we had to re-schedule for Tuesday of the following week. As soon as I arrived to Suva, Fiji, I made sure to confirm with the US Embassy. The representative was very helpful and kind.

Upon arriving at the US Embassy on his interview day, there was already a waiting line formed. Each person was confirmed if they were on the appointment list and had to wait until they were called in. We arrived at 8:30am and did not go until 9:30pm. We sat in the lobby for 2 hours until he was called by an inspector, at 11:30am, to make sure he has all the documents prior to his interview. He was finally called for his interview at 12:30pm.

The interview took 8-10 minutes and he was done. He was asked at least 5 questions in total, such as: How did we meet?, do I still work with the same employer? and etc.

I found the following very interesting:
My fiance had filed a visitor visa back in 2007 before we met. He was denied, of course without them telling him why, but I think because he was a single young man, in which to them is more prone to over-stay in the USA. The did ask him about why he was denied, in which he answered he did not know. Then they asked him if he is still working at the same place he was working when he filed the previous visa? He answered yes and the inspector noted it in the computer and moved on to another question.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
