Comments : We were very lucky, we never received any email notifications on status, from USCIS or anyone, just called by chance. I received the NOA 2 on 2/6/09. Packet 3 with the appointment letter was mailed 2/18/09 from the Lima Embassy. The local mailman had the letter for almost 3 weeks at his house, he said he didn't have it, until we arrived at his house with a bat! We were down to the wire and barely made it! Alot to do! We had only 2 days for medical, criminal checks and everything else before the interview. A word to the wise, after the packet leaves the embassy, it should only take 7 days max to arrive. Stay on top of your local incompetent mail service. It can really cause you alot of problems.

Event Description

Embassy Review : The interview went very good, we went together, thought we had all our papers, but we needed 1 document. The interviewer was very nice and said for us to mail in the necessary missing form by DHL. We did that the same day. The visa arrived 5 days later by DHL. Hassle free experience.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
