Biometrics took longer than expected because of the officer was very friendly. No touches, nothing until we received the notice for interview.
08-10-10 Interview was supposed to be at 7:15 AM the line was long to get in the building and then my wife brought a camera-no cameras allowed. That took a couple of minutes but they allowed me to go through at the front once I took away the camera. We dropped our interview sheet in the basket waited for about 1/2 hour and was called. She asked the typical questions and then asked for proof of the marriage (joint accounts and bills) and that was it, she told us she was approved and would be receiving her conditional green card in 3 weeks. No hassels except the camera.
8-23-10
We received the greencard exactly 12 days after the interview, just one day more than VJ projected. Great job VJ.
Now all we have to do is remove condidtions in a couple of years. Thanks VJ, I couldn't have done without this great website! |

We requested AP but didn't use it, but it's always a good idea to order since it doesn't cost anything and it's easy to file and get it. |

Embassy Review : |
Well I'm writing this for my fiancee, she arrived at the Embassy early, big mistake because when it was all said and done, she waited for 3 hours. I had told her about her cell phone, (what was she thinking? I told her not to bring it) she was told to turn it off. She said that when she was finally called they asked her really basic questions about our relationship and really didn't look at all her other paperwork that she brought. She said that the CO who interviewed her was very nice. She asked about the DHL shipment she provide the pre-printed DHL shipping information and was told that she would pay when it was delivered. This is a little confusing because there have been other VJers who stated that they paid the money up front to in order to recieve it. It was a really good experience and now all we need is the physical visa and her to arrive here in the U.S.A. I wish others the same good experience that we had. I have to give Visajourney all the credit just following the guides and information was very helpful as well as postings from other VJers in the various forums |

Embassy Review : |
Well we had an early appointment at 7:15 AM we got there at 7:00 AM but there was a long line to get into the building. The security check point takes a long time and don't bring any cameras or if you can help it, leave your purse or backpack at home. When they opened it took about 40 minutes to get to the security check point and then my wife brought a camera with her....that's a no no. Lucky that they allow you to take it out. We didn't drive so I didn't have a car to leave it in, but there is a shop across the street that does all kinds of things and they will hold it for $3.00 until you can pick it up.
We got in and put our invitation in the basket in room 7377 and waited for about 30 minutes before being called to door# 1. We were interviewed by a woman who was nice. She swore us in to tell the truth and asked those typical questions that are on the application about being arrested, taking drugs etc..
She asked for paperwork that colaborated our marriage, bills, rental agreements, bank statements and insurance. And after looking those over she said we were approved and reminded us that the 2 year green card was conditional alnd that we would have to file to remove the condiditons. She printed out the reminder paper for removing the condiditons and the approval letter and took the photos we put in a booklet with all the copied information they had asked for but she only took the photos that were the newest. Then she shows to the door to leave told us that we should be receiving her green card in about 3 weeks and that was it.....all over and done. Hasta La vista baby we were gone. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
