Embassy Review : |
My interview was at 7am on Nov.23, there were lots of people sitting on the bleachers in the front of U.S.embassy. While waiting to get inside the embassy I was observing other people there and the security guards. They were separating the people that had an appointment of 6:30am, 7:00am,8:30am and they check our appointment letter to remind us that if we have a electronic devices we couldnt come in. So around 6:00am they started to get us inside the embassy. The first door that I entered, they checked my bag and after that they assisted me to the right and then i saw the immigrant visa applicants. One woman assisted us to sit in the blue chairs. The girl told us that we need to prepare our DS forms like 156, 157, 156k. They looked at my appointment letter and told us to wait again a few minutes. Then I went to one both there to submit my DS forms and they give me a number that you will use for the whole processing. Went back to sit again and wait for my name to be called for the finger scanning. Once my name was called to the finger scanning they collected the ticket #. that they give and the time that im my paper arrived they let me do the finger scanning after that i go back to my seat. I waited for a long hours there for my pre screening, booth #30 they call my # and my name that was a young filipino guy he said that "good morning are you Kirsteen" and I said "yes sir", and he said "prepare the documents that i need for you"
1.) Birth Certificate 2.) NBI clearance 3.)Cenomar I prepared the documents then after that he was looking for my documents that i gave him already. Once he look at my Cenomar he said "You were married before" I said "yes sir". He then asked me again do you have the annulment papers and i said yes sir So I gave it to him. 1.) Marraige contract
2.) Annulment papers like (decision, entry of judgement, finality, papers coming from the civil registrar where we got married and papers where our annulment process took place.
Then he asked me questions about my annulment like
When was my annualment terminated ? How long is the proccessing of my annulment? What happened to my relationship with my ex ?
He also asked me if i've been in another country and i said yes sir, he ask me if I recieved a police clearance from taiwan and I said yes I already provided it sir. Then he asked for the affidavit support of my fiance.
The question again is? what does my fiance do for living? When did we meet? When did we meet in person? and then after that he ask me again if i have any pictures of us so I gave it to him the whole folder and he was looking at our pictures for a while. Then ask me again me if we have a proof of genuine relationship and i said yes sir and i gave it to him my whole folder, again. Then he told me that I need to go back to my seat and wait for my # to be called again.
As I observed the pre- screener the time that he is asking for documents that he needs from me he was taking down all the questions of my answers on one paper. So now I wait some more in the cold embassy waiting room.
while waiting I kept on praying in my seat but I know I need to be alert if my # is flashed in the screen board. Once my # flashed i went to room 33 where I saw the young white american . He said have a seat and proceded to ask the same round of questions from before. Then those magical words were spoken, Kirsteen I cant see any problems in your papers so I approved you and welcome to united states.I thanked him then he said you need to wait outside and they will call your number.
So I waited again for my name tobe called then I went to the booth again where they gave me the pink slip. Next the guy told me that i need to pay my air 21. Thats it.
Now im so happy and thankful to god because were approved. We waited for this day to come and now we will be together. I wish everyone here at visa journey the same sucess we had here and i hope this review helps someone out there.
Then those magical words were spoken, Kirsteen |

Embassy Review : |
Kirsteen was finally moving from the philippines to lasvegas nevada. She was booked on hawaiian airlines by telephone from lasvegas.I just put the ticket in her full name as it appears on her passport. At the airport in manila we paid 2800 pesos for the travel tax. Then 750 pesos for the airport tax. Hawaiian airlines dont charge for baggage. She picked up her ticket at the manila airport and flew to honolulu. Went thru immgrations and customs in about an hour then picked up her luggage because she had to recheck for the domestic flight to lasvegas. Kirsteen was treated great and I would advise anyone to use them. I spent about $880.00 for the ticket. So If you can spend a little extra $$$ its less of a pain only using one stop instead of using multipal stops when getting your fiance home. All in all this was a good experience for us. Thanks and good luck with you trips. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
