My birth certificate was not on the consulate list... so I took just a copy of it... and when I arrived to take the interview it was required... so TAKE everything you have... even if it's NOT on the list to your interview!!!
I sent the certified birth certificate overnight by the mail... |

Yeah!!! Exactly ONE day after I had received the approval notice, I got another letter with my new 10-year-green card in it!!!

Now... I'm just waiting a few more months to be able to go the final step: Take the citizenship test and be finally done!
My husband and I could not be happier! :)

The interview took it about 25 minutes.
Everybody was very polite.
I was over prepared with lots of pictures and other proof of relationship, but there was no need to show any of those things. They just asked me for the regular paperwork.
About the interview questions, most of them were common questions like how we met, when we met, when my fiancé went to my country, what we did in my country, how many times my fiancé visited me in my country, what our religion was, so on...
The only "difficult" question was about my fiancé's nephew and niece's age???... I had no idea!!! lol Later I asked it to my fiancé... and HE had no idea about the kids age either!!! Lol! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
