Local US CIS Office Review: Dallas TX Review Topic: cis_topic Event Description Review Date : July 4, 2009 Embassy Review : Interview Experience in Irving Texas I had my AOS interview on 16th June at the Dallas Field Office in Irving Texas. The interview was scheduled for 7am with my wife (USC) having to work overnight the day before. However her office is just two miles from the USCIS Field Office so I was able to pick her up from work and still get to the interview at 6.45 am giving us 15 minutes to spare. We entered the USCIS building at 6.55am, went through security and were upstairs to by 7am. Our notice was taken and given a buzzer which would vibrate when our interviewer comes to get us. We buzzed at 7.15am and our interviewer who was an elderly man (approximately mid to late fifties) told us to follow him into his office. We had our baby with us and I was hoping she wouldn’t fuss from being in a car seat for the duration of the interview as she absolutely dislikes the car seat unless the car is in motion. She however went to sleep about a minute into the interview. Guess she found it all a little boring for her! We were sworn in with our right hands raised and told to sit and the interview began. Then the surprise started. The interviewer’s first statement was his back aches and my wife empathized with him on that as she had been in a wreck the night before the interview (a different story entirely). He then asked my wife her address, and ticked off on the forms as she answered. He then turned to the I-485 and asked me if the usual 485 questions to which I answered no to all. He checked through my G325A and discovered my wife’s own was missing so he printed one for her to fill on the spot. While she was filing it he asked me how I came into the states and I told him F1 and he asked if I was still in school to which I replied yes. He then asked what I was studying and I told him what field my MS was and he said that’s great that “You will make a lot of money in that field.” We talked about being in the right place at the right times regarding opportunities and he used his wife’s career change as an example. All these while, I took all the conversing as “breaking the ice” and waited for the relationship questions to come and the opportunity to present the evidence we brought. The next thing he said was my wife can complete the G325A outside and he will collect it from her at the end of his next interview and told us the interview was over. My wife was like great! it was so easy, however I was quiet on the way out. Reason for me being quiet was he didn’t ask to see my passport not to talk of taking my 1-94 or EAD. I tacitly asked whats next and he said when I approve today then changed it to if approved today, you will be CR1 and will file to remove conditions from 90 days to the two year anniversary of approval to show we were still a family. He then wished us a wonderful day and that was the end of the interview. I was depressed the whole day as the interview would have been fabulous if my I-94 was taken; but for now am back to taking up residence beside the mail box hoping for the magic mail to arrive. I guess my case further adds to how varying AOS cases pan out. I checked my case status to see if there is an update but there was only a touch which could be one of many things. On the 18th of June, we got the I-130 approval, CPO email on July 2nd, welcome letter July 3rd dated June 30th. Harassment Level : Very Good
