Consulate Review: Vancouver, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 7, 2009
Embassy Review : They schedule your interview in the Vancouver consulate right away which is great. I was missing two pieces of paper work and that delayed the process by two weeks, one to get the documentation - letters of intent to marry and evidence of support - notarized, and the other week to get a new appointment. If you have all the paperwork, they will be happy with you, if not they will put you through a grinder.
When I came there the first time with the missing paperwork, I left without the visa, devastated, with a white piece of paper 221g - saying the two papers that I needed to get. So I did that, came back in 2 weeks and the man granted me the visa after he checked it over in 10 min.
The first time I was there, it took 3 hours, I was totally stressed out and exhausted . The second time, after I got my paperwork in order - it was easy, quick and the man just smiled.
Rating : Good

Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-05-25
Embassy Review : I crossed at Blaine from Vancouver at 7 am on Monday morning. Very good experience, the staff was knowledgeable and did my paper work in 15 min including finger prints. This was by far the best part of this whole process.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
