Embassy Review : |
They were very professional but polite and friendly.
They kept us waiting for about 40 mins, even though there was no one else in front of us. When we got in the IO seemed to have already made his mind up about approving us, I think that they were spying on us in the waiting room before hand. The IO also had a teeny little tv monitor by his desk too... Hmmmm.
Didn't look over anything we had prepared (and I had prepared A LOT of evidence and information about our marriage and cohabiting stuff), but he took the photocopy of our daughters birth certificate, after we signed a waiver because our attorney wasn't present (we didn't think they were useful there) and they asked me all the questions on the biographic form again. He flicked through his papers and then just said that we had been approved (which we were very happy about!) and he then went on to say about when to expect my PR card etc, how to remove the conditions and about travelling.
And also when we came out, everyone that worked in the office came over and was cooing over/talking to our daughter (we had to bring her with us and she was actually behaving pretty well).
The IO said that we can file for our 10 year greencard by post and to make sure we provide a load if information so that we don't have to have a face to face one, as currently the waiting lists locally are LONG.
Hoorah! Dead easy, asked for my AP back and my EAD, which I didn't have at the time... so he understood that we had no joint accounts as yet, but was happy with the phone bill, credit card etc and just took our word for it. I think he saw my giant pack though that helped. I had a few more questions about the possibility of my husband working abroad whilst I still had my provisional greencard, and he was dead helpful answering them. Overall, couldn't have gone better! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
