Comments : RFE dated March 6, 2009 and recieved on March 13, for Marriage certificate/Translation of Marriage Certificate, Both were sent with the petition I expect they didn't like my translation of the document. New translation of Marriage Certificate as well as koseki was recieved at USCIS on March 23, 2009.

Original DS-3032 was recieved at NVC on April 30, 2009. On May 14, 2009 called to inquire about status of DS-3032 becasue no IV bill had been generated. Operator said it had been recieved but not entered into the system and to resend. Second copy recieved at NVC on May 22, 2009.

Recieved the original appointment date from the NVC on June 19th. The interview was scheduled for August 17th. On June 22nd I requested an earlier interview date through the Tokyo embassy web site. On June 24th I recieved an updated interview date via email from the embassy for July 13th.

At the interview they decided to issue the visa that day instead of mailing it. This was due to some special circumstances for our case.

Comments : The C&BPO was mostly friendly. His questions while a little probing seemed to be mostly to break the monotony and follow protocol as no follow on questions were asked.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
