Embassy Review : |
This is the account of my fiance's experience at the US Embassy in London.
hi babe,as i had a 9 am appoinment i got the early train from rugby 6 am ,there were quite a few on it i was surpised at that time in the morning, arrived at euston and went to see about getting a bus to the embassy,at my medical i was told that i cud get a 73 bus outside euston to the embassy, well out side euston the 73 buses r going the wrong way u need to go over the road to get the right one, you must have a ticket to get on the bus there r machines you can use but u must have the right change ,its £3 -80 return, when u r on the bus there is a loudspeaker telling u where the bus is stopping at wait till it says selfriges then get off walk up the road a little way the same direction as the bus is going and turn left at the next set of traffic lights, the embassy is about 5 mins up that road ,there wernt many outside,u cant take your mobile in so u have to take it to a chemists up the road, and we had to go in to a building outside the embassy for a security check u had to put your bag an loose change and keys and the belt of my pants in a tray to go thro the machine ,now this is all very well but iv lost a little weight recently and my pants wouldnt stay up un less i held them up so one of the guards said cud u put your belt on inside the embassy,so there i was trying to hold my pants up with one hand and carry my documents with the other not very elegant ,once in side they say take some forms to fill in ,omg more paperwork ,i do this but when i get my turn im not asked for them ,anyway got a ticket and settled down to wait ,it took about an hour for my turn and i was asked for my birth certificate ,my final divorce papers, police certificate, wendys affidavit of support, taxs returns,my finger prints were taken , paid the fee then was told to go wait again this took about 1 and a half hours, when my number was called again i thought omg here we go the moment weve been waiting for for so long , i was asked to swear an oath that the imformation i gave was correct ,my fingerprints were checked again , i couldnt wait and asked the guy who was very nice and polite am i approved he smiled and said i was ,i couldnt believe it so that was it i walked outside went to get my phone to call wendy who i knew would b waiting for my call,i managed to get out we made it babe before breaking down im not ashamed to say that it means so much to us, i love you babe xx, i hope some of this helps a little best of luck to everyone, john G |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
