Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany

Event Description

Embassy Review : It was so easy and fast. I was out of there after 1,5 hours. My interview was scheduled for 8am and I have been there about 20 minutes before. I expected it to be harder than for a J1 internship visa but it wasn't. Just asked me where and how my fincé and I met, what he is doing for living and what kind of job I would like to get in the States. That's it.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Detroit
Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-03-06
Embassy Review : I had no problems entering the US through Detroit. The officer asked me questions like "when will you get married", "how did you and your fiancé meet?", kind of like what they ask you at the interview. That's it. He put the stamp in my passport and I was ready to go. No "Welcome to the United States" though.
Harassment Level : Low

Local US CIS Office Review: Detroit MI
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : October 2, 2009
Embassy Review : We had some problems with our case and went to our local office 3 times. If you are telling them your whole issue and let them recognize that you won't leave without a result they start being really helpful.
Our interview was pretty easy, we had it right at the 3rd time we went there. Totally unprepared (we had all our stuff with us though). He didn't want to see any pictures or anything else. He just asked me details about my husband (full name, date of birth and his parents) and if I have met his family. And he went through some of those yes/no questions you have to answer in your application. He asked my husband about how we met, about the wedding, if he met my family and what my hobbies are. Then I had to tell him about my husbands hobby and that's it. I had to turn in my medical again (which I requested from Frankfurt and received it in time).
It was a really easy going interview.
Harassment Level : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
