Comments : The Consulate interview was honestly a joke. They make you have all this paper work, pictures, proof of relationship, and they never even asked to see any of it! I even had to remind the lady that she needed the form DS-260 filled out online. Also, they pretend to be unwilling to cooperate if you ask to pick up your Visa the next day (which I was able to do), just remember to ask for your mailing envelope back before you leave. No matter what you MUST have a mailing envelope, even if your intention is to pick up the visa the next day. Overall, don't stress about this process, if you have all your paperwork in order then you should be fine!

Comments : After my interview at the consulate they gave me a manila envelope.....which was taped and said "DO NOT OPEN". If you open it you will have to start the process all over again. I left from the Montreal airport to enter the U.S. When you go through customs they ask you all the normal information: reason for entering; tell them you are using your K-1 Fiancee Visa for entry. They verify your information on your passport, take your finger prints; then the Officer takes you, along with your passport, and manila envelope to Immigration. In the Immigration office, I just had to sit and wait until my name was called. I also had to fill out the I-94 Card in which they staple inside your passport. The Immigration officer asked me a few questions and that was it! It was honestly nothing to worry about; they didn't even check my bags!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
