2009-02-20 Touched again - must have been the date they forwarded it to NVC
2009-02-27 - received NOA2 paper copy, was already at the consulate! |

Very smooth and easy. I went with my fiance through the visitor's line, my "processing" was quick. We were sent to another office and we had to put his passport and the brown envelope in a clear sleeve and wait. A gentleman in front of us from an African country got grilled pretty hard because he said his purpose of coming to the US was to visit but he had an immigrant visa. The man opened our envelope, spent about 10 minutes doing paperwork on the computer, cut the I94 and stapled it into his passport, marked through the visa, and handed us a FAQ sheet printed from the USCIS website and told us to get married within 90 days. They asked us no questions. My advice is just to be prepared and be sincere and you will be fine! |

Long lines but very smooth and easy. American CO switched over to English with me as I attended the interview with my fiance and I answered the questions, did not seem very comfortable with her Spanish. They returned my original divorce decree as it was the only certified copy I had and I was able to leave a copy with them (but only because I requested so). Very smooth and easy. A little confused at first as K1 isn't technically an immigrant visa but we were put in the immigrant visa line outside the building. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
