The officer put a v-1 on my visa and on the computer instead of a k-1 even when it was boldly written in the visa and the parcel, i had to go to the DHS office to have it corrected before i could get the SSN....! |

Sent in I-751 form and didn't notice that the check had fallen out. Saw the check laying in the car seat floor 2 days later, mailed it in with a note explaining. Got an RFE with both the check and the actual forms so remailed them back in.
Got NOA1 4days after they recieved it, cashed checks 24th same day I got NOA1. Biometric appointment letter came in Feb 2nd scheduled for the 17th, went in on the 15th and got it done, no hassles at all. Then the waiting while I went ahead with my busy schedule. May 24th got USCIS email that my petition has been approved, on 05/25 got another mail to tell me card production ordered, 26th got mail to say mail has been sent to me about approval. Got approval notice 27th and 31st got green card.
No interview no hassles like the first time, my husband and I don't have health or life insurance in each others names, car insurance is individual, we don't have same bank account although we have 2 credit cards together, my name is not in our house mortgage cos we bought it right after we got married and I didn't have social security then, I only added one affidavit and it wasn't notarized so I sent in every other evidence we had and explained what I sent in. |

Embassy Review : |
On the visa interview date, i got there early waited till i was called in, went in and paid the required fee, and waited to be called, i was in an hour or so, and was asked the name of my Fiance, where he lived, age, how we met, how we communicate, evidence of communication which included mails, books, reciept for gifts, western union pay slips, mode of communication, why i decided to date my fiance, what our first meeting was like, pictures we had taken together and a lot more, and some of the letters were repeated several times i guess to find out if i was telling truth, but you know the truth can never change when it is the truth... at end of interview i was given a blue slip which stated that they are sorry i cant be given a visa at this time cos i did not provide sufficient evidence, meanwhile i had tons of pictures even films of negatives not printed, tickets of our vacation outside my country of residence, lots of letters via usairmail, even books, western union payslips, i was confused and angry but calmly asked her..."what else do you want that i have not provided"? Because i could see the visa petition stamped boldly saying approved in red letters... so she said more communication so i said okay, thanked her and left, the next day it rained so i couldnt go to the embassy but the second day after the refusal i went with 40 copies of emails some of which we three pages long...!
When i got there she smiled and asked what i had for them and i said e-mails and i brought them out, and she said ....awww this is too much, she repeated a few questions she asked me 2days ago and i gave same response before she finished talking she brought out another blue slip which was already in my file and said come pick your visa on the date stated below, these all happened within 10mins of my arrival... i was wooshed.
The lesson i learnt there is honesty and perseverance, a lot of people dont return after they have been refused, she said she expected to see me the next day after that refusal so sometimes it is a test too to see how genuine you are cos if you really love your spouse and want to be with him or her you will always find what they want and return it.
It might take a longer time than mine did but eventually , you will get it.
I had other issues with them later but at no fault of mine, they had to cancel the visa on my old passport because they did not notice there was an observation on it, so i was asked to make a new passport and pay a new visa fee which was later not collected from me...
I took my time to write this review because i remmeber how nervous i was about going for the interview and how it turned out, so for those yet to attend relax God is in control, answer only what you are asked and be as honest as you can be... dont tell long stories cos you ll have to unty yourself if you make any blunder....
For honest hearted individuals like we are...God speed my friends! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
