Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 30, 2008
Embassy Review : Everything ran efficiently with a very short wait. After seeing 1 person at a bank teller type window, Daniel was given a number and waited for the main interview. The interview was short and very easy questions were asked, such as does your fiancee have siblings, where do they live, are her parents still married, what are their names etc... The woman was pleasant, and told Daniel that she was "delighted to approve our fiance visa". We were told that it would take 5-10 business days but it arrived via courier 2 days later. All in all a surprisingly pleasant experience.
Rating : Very Good

Event Description

Embassy Review : All in all our experience here was fine. It did take a half an hour to actually get into the building, so plan ahead. Security was fine as long as you don't have a camera. The only problem I had (which is probably the same with all locations) was that we had an appointment for 8am and assumed that meant we'd actually be seen at that time. We were made to wait with about 50 other people who also had 8am appointments for an hour before we were actually seen. Our interview was fine- took about 20 minutes. It was far more casual than I expected and the questions were asked in a more conversational manner than being grilled. They tell you at the end of the appointment whether you've received your green card which is nice because you aren't left to wonder.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
