Consulate Review: Jamaica Review Topic: K1 Visa Event Description Review Date : October 28, 2009 Embassy Review : We arrived at the embassy very early at 715am for our 830am appt! Checkin: we checked in at the front there were two lines one for tourist and the other for filing visas..we were the second ones in lne for the filing..she looked at our appoinment letter and told him to take out the passport pics and right his name on the back. Then we went thru security.. Security:Got to the secuirty line it was short and simple ..ironically my fiance new one of the secuirty guards..we went through then went to the courtyard area.. there another lady checked the DS156..DS156K..and DS157 Section A:We got to section with number A128..it's about 730am it was already packed as we walked in..so we go stand on the side..there was a guy directing the seating arrangements and i guess the "organizer of that section" he was funny ..he was given jokes about my fiance' and I ..how we look good together..and how we were all hugged up..he made us stand out and everyone could look over at us whenever we kissed or hugging each other..we were being like that in case anyone was watching..( and yes they do have camera's) !But at around 840am we got called to window 7..the lady took all our documents she was "nice" and pleasent..she asked for the medical and we told her the hospital said it wasn't ready and she was like Ok! she stapled the nesccary documents together gave me back what she didnt need..she gave me back the ds230 pt2 and some of my income tax info..then she told us to have a seat and wait to be called..we get called up again and was directed to go to section B for fingerprints.. Section B :This was simple we waitied about 15-20 min to be called up..and my fiance did his fingerprints less than 5 mins ..then we went back to section A to be called up for the interview.. Interview: at this point section A was pretty much empty..there was a family waiting to be interviewd us and another couple..we get called up to window 8..it was a jamaican guy..he was nice but stern..he asked us: -when we met? -how we met ? -how do we communicate? -and if i have family in Jamaica ? then he asked me to go sit down and for my fiance to pick up the phone..i was trying to lip read but it did'nt work..lol..he asked my fiance : - what do i do for work ? - how long have i been wrking? -what are his plans in the u.s. ? then i saw him slip something under the window to my fiance i didnt know what it was ..at that point i thought it was gonna be something saying to come back with the medical..but my fiance turned to me as i was sitting and said " come lets go" he was so calm about it ..so i didnt know what happened..so i asked him what did he say..and he was like he said to go make arrangements with DHL..i just gave him a big hug and a kiss !! and i walked outside and said thank you jesus !! There were 4 k-1's including us..3 of us made it and 1 got denied for admitting use of a controlled subt told to come back in 2013 ! there were 2 family approvals and alot of other people didnt get thru becuz they were missing documents..overall the experince turned out very well..far from what i expected ! Rating : Very Good
