Embassy Review : |
We got there about 1.5 hours early...parking was free so thats a plus!
About 30 min before the interview we walked in, cleared security (kinda weird if you ask me, noone ever checked my purse...) and were told to put our letter in a tray.
We waited for about 1 hour and 15 min before my name was called.
The officer was really nice...he made us swear that everything we say is true and aksed for our IDs. Then he aksed for our names and adresses and when we got married. He asked my husband how we met, then he asked if we were still with the same bank. I handed him a brand new bank statemant and some other bills showing both our names (phone bill, lease) and that was it, he said that he would approve our case...
I was really shocked, I thought it would be so much harder...the officer said that he really liked how organized we were (I had copies of everyting plus everything was in folders), and since my husband is a former military guy he even gave us his business card in case I dont get my green card within 6 weeks.
He then told us about lifting conditions and made us sign a paper stating that he explained everything about it...and that it!! The whole interview wasnt longer then 10 min...and about 5 min of that was small talk!!
So, dont be afraid...be organized and put on a smile

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
