Our biometrics appointment was on December 31, 2008. Right during a huge snow storm :) Went very smoothly!!
Our process was delayed because Nick was a student and didn't have income for 2 years, the 3rd year he has above poverty income, but we still got RFE.
Our GC interview was a breeze. We brought millions of evidence in a huge backpack just in case. |

As an international student, I had an EAD that expired in Jan 2009. This is why I filed for a 'renewal' EAD. Interestingly, my conditional GC came out on March 24... a day before my EAD was approved. |

First of all, I had my interview in Lawrence, MA, which is the local CIS nearest to me.
My Naturalization Ceremony was held in Worcester, MA at the Mechanics Hall. My registration time was 9.15am and the form stated that the judge will come at 12.30pm.
We got there at 9am. Park at nearby lot ($20!! But at least no risk of getting towed, etc.). The line was long (expected), but as soon as they started to letting people in (maybe 9.30 or 9.45am), the line went by fast.
Got to my seat around 10.15am or so. Books or music is recommended if you don't feel like talking to the person next to you, note: the place is a little dark to read. I played Sudoku on my phone and briefly chat with the guy next to me. The woman next to me had a great time chatting with the the woman next to her.
The judge arrived at 12.27pm. The ceremony was about half an hour. I got out from the building at 1.15 or so.
My husband and I went to the nearby Chinese Buffet to celebrate :) |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
