Citizenship interview: I was asked MANY questions, even some that were not on N400. Also I was asked some questions twice even three times! As I paid state taxes late in one year my case is pending.

5 days after the interview I received RFE to give them in writing (swear and notarize!) why I owe taxes (I don't) and to submit evidence that I live with my husband (irrelevant in my case as I have been a LPR for more than 5 years). ..

Event Description

Embassy Review : Interviewer was an individual with a tick Asian accent. He went through the questions on the N400 one by one. Things he asked SEVERAL times (same questions), not sure why. Also asked questions about how I met my husband (and then checked if my answer matched what is in my file! - I think the letter we needed to write for the K1 visa; I don't remember). I thought it was weird because actually I was a permanent resident well over 5 years so I didn't need to file on grounds of marriage (but I checked that box anyway). Unfortunately, once I filed state taxes late (years late) so he asked A LOT of questions about that too!

I personally thought it was just too much.
Harassment Level : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
