Comments : I must say that I was really quite surprised how easy our "interview"(wouldn't really classify it as that) was today. It was an AOS for both a K1 and K2 in Omaha NE and everything went smooth. The adjudicator was a pleasant woman, who was not overly friendly but I never got a bad vibe from her. The whole thing really seemed just like a formality really. Almost like she had studied the file beforehand and had her mind made up before we arrived. When we walked out my first thought was; Really that's it? She asked to see both of our driver's licenses and then only asked to see my wife and step daughter's passports(visas and I-94s inside too). She asked to see our son's birth certificate(born in Mexico but is US citizen). She asked if we had any documents to show a relationship such as joint bank account or lease. I showed her a bank account with both our names and an affidavit by my good friend. That was it. She asked the standard questions about being a terrorist or ever being deported or entering the US illegally. I had to ask her if she wanted to see my birth certificate and she said sure. There was not one personal question about our relationship or family asked. In the end, I asked if she wanted to see our wedding album since I had it with me(sort of jokingly). She thumbed through it and made some nice comments.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
