Embassy Review : Our interview experience was much as others have stated. We arrived @ 5:30am to get in line. The people were divided in different lines based upon the interview times. We entered the embassy early because I am 4 months pregnant. I had stepped out of line; being nauseous from the humidity; the crowdedness. A police man noticed my condition; called for my boyfriend; moved us forward. I was relieved, but didn’t want to make others in line upset. I could not bring in a water bottle with me; had to put it in the trash; snacks that I brought were okay. Shortly after entering; we were called to window 17 to give them Alex’s papers. We received our number; waited for the next step. We were spoiled being called so early to the first window as it was much later to be called to window 13 for the fingerprints. We thought it would be another hour before our interview. It sure was a long hour. People after us were called first. Don’t despair; the numbers are not called in order or the same order; from one window to the next. Then we saw our number called; headed to window 22. The interview woman was very nice. She swore us in, but didn’t have us sign the DS-230 part II as I expected. She reviewed Alex’s papers; as he didn’t sign one of them. Then she started the questions, mostly to me.

• When did you meet?
• Are you concerned for the big difference in your ages?
• Why didn’t you marry first before doing the visa?
• She reviewed my divorce papers; said all was in order.
• She asked Alex if he was every married; if he had any children.
• Do I have any children?
• Do we anticipate having children together?
• She reminded us that we needed to marry within 90 days of entry.
• She asked Alex what our wedding date is.

Then she said in Spanish and English “Congratulations, you are approved.” Yes, our papers were already stamped “Approved” and the green DOMEX card was already prepared. She explained she needed to make sure our relationship was trustworthy.

We were back at the hotel by 10:30am, interview completed! We stayed at Aparta Hotel Jardines Del Teatro (www.Jardinesdeelteatrord.com). The hotel was 100ft from the Embassy. It was great!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
