Long wait, folks, long wait.
I arrived at the Rio Consulate around 7:20am, to find a queue of about 10 people in front of me. Nothing scary, really. A guy came, checked our names and, around 8:00am, we were in. We were then directed to the second floor where there was a guy handing over a list showing the order they wanted the docs to be hand over, and there was when the long wait began
Apparently they do call in first the ones with incomplete paper work or missing information. As I’m a proud doc-assembler, my case was in order, nothing missing, but I got in for my interview only at 12:20am. You do the math.
The consul was a no-smiles lady, and she seemed to be more interested in my previous L-2 visa (from almost 10 years ago!) than in my current case.
She did ask when was the last time we’d seen each other and wanted to see some pictures. She was also interested to know from where my fiancé ex-wife was from (luckily I knew that piece of useless information) and then she wanted to know if my fiancé traveled a lot for his job. I said yes, as he gets short assignments to work in different parts of the world.
She was polite, but not very friendly. She then said that the visa was approved (Thank you LORD! ) and that she was going to cancel my current B2 visa.
Overall it went fine, apart from the long wait and the fact that my past was much more interesting to her than my future.
My visa will arrive by mail, with the mysterious brown envelop that I should NOT open whatsoever, in 2/3 days.
So, there is nothing to worry if you have everything in order and is telling the truth, nothing but the truth.

Very pleasant indeed. The line was a bit of a waiting. When I finally got to the booth, the officer called up some other guy. He took me to this immigration/wating area, where they got the brown envelope and checked everything. It took like 20 min until he called my name and told me that I had 90 days to get married, and I was good to go.
Oh, the feeling of being home is just great!!

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
