Case was transferred from Missouri Service Center to California Service Center. Received an RFE because: 1) USCIS couldn't find evidence of prior medical exam (i.e. they lost my medical exam records!), so I had to have another medical exam here in the US. Total cost was 190 dollars (vaccinations taken were covered 100% by my insurance). 2) My finger prints taken on two biometrics appointments were "illegible". Had to go to local police department and get police certificate. They mailed the police certificate after three days. AOS approved about a month after RFE response was sent. No interview required. |

Embassy Review : |
My interview was scheduled on Oct 23 at 1 PM, but they didn't interview me until about 4:20 PM. The whole interview took about 5 minutes. A male American consul asked me a few simple questions like how I met my fiance, had my fiance met my parents, what was his job, which company he worked for... things like that. Nothing complicated. I think the 3.5 hours waiting was alot worse than the interview itself
They gave me a small white card with red "K" stamp on it to pick up my passport with the visa on Oct 29. All done! |

Embassy Review : |
My fiance (USC) and I went through the immigration line for foreign passport together. I submitted my passport and the brown envelope from the embassy. After fingerprints and photo were taken, the immigration officer took us to a room. We waited for about 15-20 minutes until another officer called us. Before she gave me my passport back, the officer asked if we already had a wedding date, and reminded us that we had three months to get married and would need to get more paperworks done afterwards. That was all... quick and painless! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
