The POE was extremely professional, right to the point and thorough. No problem at all. Asked relevant questions about where we will live, what my husband do for a living and what I used to do back home. |

Embassy Review : |
I had my consulate interview on 30th June 2008. People were right....South Africa have an excellent consulate to work through. Everybody from the security, case worker and consular interviewer were professional, friendly, helpful, understanding and very efficient.
I arrived around 0800 for my interview at 0900....my deposit slip, application form and photos were checked prior to letting me into the consulate.
Make sure your pictures are the right size...
I was thoroughly searched at the security point, but everybody is friendly and professional.
At 0900 my caseworker called me and checked all our documents that had to be completed and asked a few questions like where I met my husband, how long we've known each other, where he works and such.....nothing too serious. He also paged through our wedding album. Then he told my daughter and I that we can take break and should be back by 1300 for our next interview with a consular interviewer. We came back at 1300 and were called almost immediately.
The lady also asked a few questions like how we met, where we will live, what my husband do for a living. She asked my daughter one or two easy questions and then it was all over....phew......she then said that we can either pick up or visas in a few days or have it couriered.....I chose the courier service and they promised that it will be delivered within 5 working days.....
Overall a stressfull but painless experience.....Have your paperwork ready, complete and neat. Be absolutely honest and don't forget your please and thank you's.
Trust God and he will make a way...... |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
