Embassy Review : Hi all I just got my visa in hand today! The interview itself was last week on Nov 25, which was very surprising because I only came for document screening (at 10.45am), but when the officer (Indonesian) finished checking my docs, she offered me to have the interview right that afternoon at 13.00. I was kind of shocked cos I didn't expect to have the interview that soon! She kept encouraging me to have it that day, since all the docs & proofs are complete, and it's better to do it on that day so I don't have to go back and forth to the embassy. I thought, she has some points about this. Finally I agreed to have the interview at 13.00 that day. I was lucky that apart from the docs that I brought for doc screening, I also brought all the docs (proofs) that I have prepared for the interview (which I thought would be the following week). I'm not sure if it happens also at other consulate that sometimes they ask to have interview on d same day, but to Indonesian filers, perhaps it's best to be prepared cos it might happen
To cut it short, the interview went well when I got back to the embassy, I was the first in line for K1 interview (there were 4 other ladies), so I really didn't have to wait for long. The CO (american) asked some standard questions like: when was the first time you two met?, when did u meet in person? how many times has he been visiting u? from all the meetings in person, how many time has he met your parents?! (I answered all of the 3 visits Rob always met parents), where do you live? what does he do? what do you do? when did you decide to get married? have you ever been to the US before? for how long?, who paid for the trip? Then he asked if I have some pictures. That was the only proof that the CO asked.
Well, in the middle of the interview he realised that I haven't got my fingerprint scanned so he asked me to scan my own fingers on the machine provided. Then, this was the most terrifying part!! Somehow my fingerprints were not into the computer system, even after several attempts. So he asked me if I was in a hurry, if not then I was asked to wait for a while and he would see if it's in the system. I started to get panic , but he said you're ok, you're fine, don't worry.. it's just the computer system.. After around 30 mins, he called me into the room 1 again, then told me that probably there was something wrong with the machine and he will call me to come to the embassy again if he needs me to have another fingerprints, he assured me one more time that I'm ok while handed me the white slip to pick up my passport & visa on Dec 1!
oh btw, I was afraid that my two previous denied tourist visa would be a problem, but the CO didn't even mention about it. So.. it was really a great relief

P.s.: I'd like to express my special gratitude to tinyrosie and jeff/in-in who have helped & encouraged me a lot to get thru this K1 path GBU guys!

POE Review: Washington DC
Event Description
Entry Date : 2009-02-04
Embassy Review : I & Rob were first got in the Foreign passport lane. Then one officer looked at d brown envelope that I hold in hand, and she said we both can queue in Citizen line, that saved us a lot of time than queuing at foreign passport lane. The immigration officer just asked a couple of questions (can't remember what he asked but very simple questions), he didnt even ask when the wed date is gonna be! Got my fingerprint (thank god it's not a problem like I had at d embassy!) and photo taken. Then off we went to the customs, and there I had to go into a room alone. Again, the officer asked some standards questions: what is d purpose of coming to US (to get married with my fiance, RJP), what does he do, where does he work, what was my job, have I ever been to the US before, how long, what did I do when I was in d US, which cities did I visited. Then all is done in about 15 min (including d waiting time, there were about 4 people waiting before I came in, I got called first for d short interview though). All was very easy though I admitted, being in that room really made me nervous!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
