Upon re-entry with my temporary I-551 stamp the CBP officer seemed unfamiliar with the law surrounding entry with the stamp. This stamp should be treated as a legal permanent residence for the period of a year until you receive the physical green card. I stated so, told him he could call a supervisor if needed and he then backed down from his defensive stance once I explained the initial validation stamp date and the line of text reading that the stamp serves as 1 year of residency. Green card is currently being produced when I check the USCIS tracker and I expect to receive it in the next 5 days which would be 7 weeks from initial entry.
