Embassy Review : |
Here is my visa experience. I had an interview on may 1st. I drove to the convention center with my uncle and arrived at convention center at 7:00 am. If you don’t know someone in Islamabad than it is better to know earlier the location of convention center.there were hundreds of people waiting for bus ticket. Try to come as early as possible. most of the people arrived at convention center before 6:00 am. i waited in line for half hour to get a bus ticket. it cost Rs. 40/-. on ticket counter, the ticket salesman asked my appointment letter and saw my passport. i got the bus ticket and went to another counter and submitted my bag. i took all my documents and proves from the bag. you are not allowed to take your bags and mobiles to the embassy. it was embarrassing. Well than I went to the bus stop and waited another half hour and then boarded a bus to the embassy. I arrived at the embassy around 8:00 am. A very strict security. A security officer checked the appointment letter and allowed me to the embassy. They checked us twice before enter into the main building. First CO took finger prints and told me wait for the call. I moved towards the waiting lounge. It was too loud. The children were crying and people were waiting with embarrassing faces for the call. I waited more than 4 hours for my first call and they only took my passport and asked about the language that I prefer the interview to be and than said wait for second call. Waited another hour and they called me again. On second call a lady counselor asked me three question
1. why are you going to USA?
2. have you ever visited to USA?
3 Were you ever involved with Terrorist organization?
And asked me about my medical report. I gave her sealed medical report and than she told me wait for another call. They mostly handled first for visit and non immigrant visa applicants.
I waited one more hour and on my final call. The visa officer asked me following question.
1. when did you marry?
2. where does she live in USA?
3. how did your wife get nationality?
4. when did she go to the USA?
Than he asked me to show pictures of wedding if you have . I gave him whole bunch of photos. He saw every pics and finally smiled and told me, you will get your passport in 7 days from American express Karachi. The American express will call you. He returned all my original civil and additional documents which I submitted to the NVC, except my original police certificate. That’s it.
Overall experience was good, except looooooong waiting. My advice is that whatever they ask you, always try to give them precise answer. Don’t try to tell them the whole story. On Saturday. may 3, American express called me at home and I got my passport with visa on Monday May 5, 2008. finally after two years long visa journey, I got my visa. Thanks God. God bless and help us.

Embassy Review : |
its very simple and easy.my flight arrived at 16:30. the immigration line was too big. the immigration officer asked me simple question, like why i am here and asked about my wife. did i take any foods or anything which is expensive. than he took the brown sealed envelope from me and opened it and stamped my passport and returned my passport and papers and told me to take your luggage and go to the next level, immigration office. the officers were very nice and friendly. no question asked, just took the fingerprints and i signed a form. thats it. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
