Comments : My husband's appointment was for 7:40 and we arrived at 7:15. There is a paid parking lot across the street. I think we paid $10. There wasn't much of a line for security and we were upstairs by 7:30. My husband handed in his interview notice and then we sat down to wait. People are called in random order (it is not first-come, first-served).

My husband was called for the interview just before 9:00. The interview only lasted 10 minutes. She didn't ask him for any additional information and he easily passed the test. He came back with an approval and we went to another room to wait for the oath ceremony. We were told to wait to be called to a window where my husband would check over his naturalization certificate. Around 11, they started calling a lot of people up to the windows and around noon we moved to another room for the oath ceremony. We were out by 1.

It was a lot of waiting but it was great to get the interview and oath done in one day!

Consulate Review: Naples, Italy

Event Description
Review Date : February 7, 2009
Embassy Review : Daniele had a very good experience in Naples. He had his medical exam on Monday and the interview on Tuesday. He highly recommends that you take a taxi to the hospital for the medical exam. He also recommends the B&B La Dimora di Nettuno (http://www.hotelpernapoli.it/). It is very close to the consulate.

After the medical examination, Daniele and the other 5 people were told to go to the consulate the next day at 8 am because they were so few people. Daniele handed over his passport to someone who checked that all of his papers were in order. At about 9:30 he was called to the interview window and asked to swear that everything in his application was true. That was it - the end. The consulate could not guarantee that the visas would be done that afternoon so Daniele opted to have his visa delivered via express mail at the cost of 40 euros. He received his passport with visa and packet on Friday.

Daniele said everyone was very nice. We also called the consulate several times to make sure they had our papers or to ask specific questions about the papers and they were always very nice and answered our questions.

Good luck!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
