Comments : Submitted updated police certificate and passport to the consulate after the interview. They signed for it on Oct 23rd and my case status was updated on October 27th. After 7 weeks of waiting for an update, I emailed the consult inquiring about the status. They emailed back (10 days later), and told me that my status has been changed to 'Issued' and I should expect my documents within 10 days.

Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 19, 2023
Embassy Review : It was very difficult to find information in preparation for my interview in Montreal. I wasn't aware that I couldn't take a backpack in, and I had my computer with me and had to run back to my hotel to return it before my interview. During the interview, everything was a good experience and the people I met with were kind and communicated well. However, my police certificate didn't say 'other' on it, so they told me to take my passport home and then send it back with a new certificate. They said it would take 1 week to process the new certificate after I sent it to them. There was no information given on where to send the document, so I assumed I should send it to the consulate address. It was returned to me and I had to search online to find the correct address. It's been 7 weeks now since they've received my new certificate and passport, and I have no indication when I'll receive my approval documents and passport. I've attempted to email them but have not heard replies. My main complaint is that there is no way to ask questions, which leads to many issues and frustrations.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
