Event Description

Embassy Review : Had our biometrics appointment yesterday at 8 am in Cincinnati. The office was at the Federal Building on Main Street, so there were metal detectors to go through. (Fun, fun!) We found a parking garage a couple blocks away on the corner of Main and third. Not too far of a walk, but it ended up costing us $8 to park there.

The building doesn't open until 7:30, so we had to wait outside for a few minutes. At least the weather was nice.

The fingerprint office is on the first floor, just down a hallway to the right past the elevators. There's a sign on the ceiling that says "fingerprints." But they refused to let anyone in until 8 am on the dot (Yeah for beurocracy!) So we had to wait outside...Again.

And then wait some more inside the office...Thankfully we were one of the first ones there. A lot more people showed up not too long after we did, so the waiting room was quite full.

We had to got and check in at a window, present Chris' passport and the appointment letter. They gave us a form to fill out, then it was back up to the window. The guy at the window gave us a little attitude when he saw that the address Chris had written on the form wasn't the same as on the letter, but after we assured him that we'd filed all the address change paperwork he said that was all he needed to know. He gave us a number, then we had to wait to be called up.

The actual fingerprinting/photo part only took about 5-10 mins. I had to wait in the waiting room while Chris went back to get it done. But after that we could leave!

The whole process ended up taking about an hour and a half, but the building isn't that hard to find; it's the "hurry up and wait" part that's annoying...
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
