Embassy Review : writing for my fiancee:
"My appointment wasn't until 7:30 but I still arrived early. The appointment time didn't end up mattering as it just became first come first serve. It was very noisy so, and their were a lot of people so be sure to listen very carefully. The process ended up being very easy for me. The 2 people ahead of me were denied, which did make me a bit nervous. One of them was an older gentleman who did not speak English and didn't seem to understand what they were asking for. When it was my turn they only asked for ds160, cenomar, and NBI. They also asked for our receipt for our payment for the interview. I did not have the receipt with me fortunately I remembered how much it was and that was enough. They did not ask for proof of relationship or declaration of financial support. Total interview was about 2 minutes, they only asked when I intend to get married, and what my fiance did for a living. I did also explain that we have a son together."

Congrats!! Our K-1 visa is in "Ready" status but says to wait until the Embassy in Manila contacts us before making an interview appointment. Others are saying that we can submit DS-160, make payment, and schedule interview when we are in "Ready" status. Do we have to wait for them to contact us? Thanks Keith

Hi, no we didn't wait for the embassy to contact us. As soon as we got our numbers from the NVC we proceeded with DS-160 and scheduling the interview.

Thanks for the quick reply! We have already submitted the DS-160 and just need to pay the fees. Thanks again and Good Luck

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
